Why two churches?

Well, Craigie had already joined with Symington to form Craigie Symington Parish some time ago when, in 2024, the Presbytery of the South West decreed that, due to the shortage of ministers and the falling attendances in churches all over the country, there should be a union with Dundonald Parish to form Craigie, Dundonald and Symington Parish..

As the two villages are a few miles apart, with no transport or natural linkages, it was decided to keep both church buildings open and in worship, hence two churches but one Parish.
